This toolkit gathers together a wide range of resources about neurodiversity and enterprise education, providing a central repository for all those working in further and higher education who wish to provide the best possible service to neurodivergent students, colleagues and external stakeholders.
The toolkit has been compiled by Dr Lorna Treanor, Co-Founder of the Charter for Inclusive Entrepreneurship, and Rob Edwards, CEO of the Neurodiversity & Entrepreneurship Association. Launched at the annual Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship conference in November 2024, it builds on discussions held during the International Enterprise Educators Conference 2023 in a workshop they organised entitled ‘Neurodiversity & Enterprise Education: How can we facilitate neurodivergent student success?’. The outputs from this workshop can be found here.
Key Audience for the Toolkit
The following groups will find useful content in the toolkit, but many of the resources are also relevant to anyone working in tertiary education, and the corporate world more broadly:
1. Enterprise Instructors who are working with students, graduates and external stakeholders.
2. Enterprise Education Practitioners, including careers professionals, enterprise centre & incubator staff, and other business support teams.
3. Enterprise Academics who are interested in making their research activities with external stakeholders more neuro-inclusive.
Other groups with a role in creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for neurodivergent students in higher education, and who may find the toolkit useful, include Disability Services Staff, Resident Life and Campus Support Staff, Student Support Groups and University Administrators and Policy Makers.
